Hello, and thank you for your interest in The Icehouse collective!
We are always excited to meet new creators and other talented people, who are enthusiastic to share their ideas and develop new projects.
This page is intended to act as a guide for you if you are considering joining us.
Admission is granted following a vote of the current Members of the Collective. Ordinarily initial admission is as a Friend of the Collective (= register to the forums and introduce yourself).
Before we can vote to accept or decline your submission, we need to know some more about you and what your activity/interests are.
Please reply to the following questions the best that you can, and send us your answers by email:

Language
- What is your/your team’s level of ability (written/reading) in English? (This doesn't necessarily have to be a high level)
NB: This is purely for enabling us to understand each other. Even though the founders of The Icehouse are French, we are an online gathering/ community of European/American creators, and you'll need to be able to communicate with everyone. We chose English as our main/core language.

I - You and your team
Please submit answers as either 1 representative person, or as 1 entity.
- Who are you? Short CV and details of relevant experience + website (if available)
- How did you hear about us? Have you worked with any of our partners in the past? If yes, who, and on which projects?
- Do you work alone or are you in a small team, or do you represent a larger group? We feel that it's very important to be in line with the collective: having an indie spirit, with projects lead by very small teams or individuals, and usually self-funded.
- Who initiated this enquiry? (does the request come from you, or did we get in touch with you first?)

II - Reason for your enquiry about joining us
- Have you known the collective for a long time? Do you follow our news, or our pages on social networks?
- Do you know our past and current projects? What are you favorite ones?
- Overall, do you feel interested in our work and our core purposes? Why?
- What do you expect from us? Cooperative projects, meeting other artists, getting more exposure, helping us and sharing your own experience, benefiting from our experience, etc.
- Is it clear to you that we are principally a collective of artists (not only game devs), that we try to help each other by increasing the exposure of our projects, and that we don't specifically produce/fund cooperative projects?
- What are your views regarding the fact that we appear to not be particularly well known, not always very active, mainly because we do this in our free time? Do you see it as a risk during any potential collaboration between us and you?
- Do you have a game/other work in development you would like to present on our forums? Or a project/idea that we can discuss and try to help you with? Is there a particular reason for you wanting to join us now, and why not later on?

III - Other questions
- Are you applying to become a Friend or a Member?
"Member" is effectively a permanent status that implies responsibilities for and within the future of the collective, while "Friend" is a means of joining us freely, in order to discuss and talk about projects with everyone.
NB: new requests are rarely accepted under Member status, and it may be advisable to initially apply to become a Friend on our forums (this status can be updated later of course, as soon as we get to know each other better)
- Do you feel OK with the fact that we only meet online - emails, forums? (not in real life, not by phone, Skype... even if that could change in the future)
- Finally, please make sure that you have shared any screenshots, videos, demos of your works (or give us a link)
